How to Read Your Monthly Bill

• Message Center - Provides messages from Gas South including information about your account and marketing offers.
• Information Bar - Highlights important account information including your Gas South Account Number, Current Charges, Current Charges Due Date, and Current Amount Due.
• Explanation of Charges- Past Due Balance is a result of your previous balance minus any payments made since you were last billed. Total Current Charges are a sum of the following items:
  • Gas Charges - Therms Used multiplied by your Rate per Therm.
  • Customer Service Fee - Gas South's fee for servicing your account.
  • AGL Pass Through Charges and AGL Meter Read Charges - Monthly charges collected on behalf of Atlanta Gas Light for making gas available to you.
• How We Calculated Your Gas Charges - This section provides a detailed explanation of how your gas charges were calculated.
• Budget Bill Detail - This section is provided for Budget Bill customers only.
  • Previous Budget Balance - Reflects the actual charges incurred since plan inception minus all payments made.
  • Payment (or Unpaid Balance) - Represents new activity on your account since your last billing statement.
  • Current Charges - Reflect your current month's charges to your account.
• Consumption History Graph - Shows your historical gas consumption over the past 12 months.
