"In the Know" with MXenergy

Today I stumbled upon a natural gas blog titled MXpressions. Naturally I felt inclined to bounce around and explore the content within. MXenergy CEO and President Jeff Mayer—along with other MXenergy employees—offer insight into the natural gas realm, the environment and other like topics, offering customers a portal into the world of one of the largest energy retailers in North America. I for one have never heard of a CEO taking the proverbial reigns of a company blog, but I also find it crisp and refreshing, like a cool Spring rain, or the scent of wildflowers traveling on a mountain breeze... Sorry, but I just watched a soap commercial and the soliloquy of fuzzy language is washing my brain in suds of vivid happiness.

MXpressions is a unique window into the inner workings of the mind behind an energy company that offers service all over the United States. So Georgians, this is your chance to get to know your friendly natural gas provider a little better.

Planting Trees with MXenergy: The Gift that Keeps on Giving

Give the Gift of Green
Give the gift of green this holiday season, and skip the department store earrings this time around. Natural gas marketers are joining the fight against global warming, with MXenergy's Project GreenGift offering a unique way to both go green, and offer a friendly green gift for those who matter most.

The program allows you to purchase a tree to be planted by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai (CSK) Tribes in the State of Montana, with the idea that said tree will offset a portion of carbon emissions. Your lucky recipient receives a certificate from Sustainable Forestry Management Ltd. (SFM) showing the environmental benefits associated with the tree's planting, specifically the carbon emissions offset for one year.

You can choose from four different options that include offsetting your energy bill and transportation. By planting a tree with MXenergy's Project GreenGift, you are helping the Earth's natural filtration system change harmful carbon dioxide to precious oxygen.

Land of Peaches: Preserving and Conserving our Home

So we're talking about Georgia—not the one with fuzzy fur hats and caviar—the one with peach pie, Atlanta and the Braves. The namesake of King George II and one of the original thirteen colonies, today's Georgia boasts a rapidly increasing population estimated at nearly 10 million.

We are talking about a lot of people here, and somehow these people need access to a constant and reliable energy source that won't degrade the beautiful environment that so many of us Americans call home.

MXenergy has a viable solution to the problems plaguing Georgians. It's called the MXenergy Earth Friendly Partnershipsm and here's how it works. You pay a few cents more a day than what you might normally spend on your utilities, and those extra pennies will cover the rest to ensure your home is "carbon neutral." The MXenergy Earth Friendly Plan offsets your home's emissions by planting trees on your behalf. A home that offsets 100% of CO2 emissions is considered carbon neutral.

I know most of us think saving the environment is the right thing to do—but we all just love our SUVs and our two-story, air-conditioned "MacMansions." This is your chance to do rather than just say; your way to create a difference without creating an inconvenience

Let's think about this for a second. If we all do our share—carpooling when we can, turning lights off when they're not needed and using an environmentally conscious energy supplier such as MXenergy, together as a community you, I and all energy consumers can impact the world that we leave our children. If that won't help you sleep at night maybe you need a new mattress (which incidentally could take 20-25 years to fully degrade in a landfill).

MXenergy Joins Forces with Walter Reeves

Georgia's best-known gardener is now an "Earth Friendly Partner", joining MXenergy's program that enables homeowners and businesses to offset CO2 emissions from natural gas usage.

The MXenergy Earth Friendly Partnership funds the planting of trees that naturally absorb harmful CO2 emissions and help reduce effects of global warming. The program is available to all commercial and residential customers of MXenergy in Georgia.

Retired from the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension, Reeves was raised on a poultry farm in rural Fayette County. He hosts "The Lawn and Garden Show with Walter Reeves"on NewsTalk 750 WSB-AM every Saturday morning from 6-10 a.m. The program is the most listened-to radio show in Atlanta each Saturday.

"If you grow up working with the soil, you realize early on the importance of protecting Mother Nature. That is why I'm excited to be joining forces with the MXenergy Earth Friendly Partnership," said Walter Reeves. "As MXenergy's spokesman and enthusiastic customer, I am able to lend a hand in planting trees, whether I'm in the garden or not, and what can be better than that!"

According to company estimates, if all MXenergy customers went "carbon neutral," the environmental impact would be equivalent to removing 700,000 cars from the roads each year.
